1. MRCX Pty Ltd

MRCX Pty Ltd is a proprierty Australia Company established in 2013 by Ian and Miranda Mumford.

Ian brought Miranda to Australia under the Skills-in-Demand Immigration Program. Initially permanent residents sponsored by the New South Wales Government, they pledged their allegence to Australia when they became Australian Citizens.

Ian and Miranda came to Australia with a "Spirit of Adventure". They have endeavoured to make a difference in Australia and to enjoy a good life in this country.

Miranda has been instrumental in the development of the company. We need to remember the reason why this company exits is Miranda's rare and skills-in-demand. Miranda was "gifted-child" born into a poor family. Like Ian Miranda paid little attention to difficult circumstances in her childhood made a decision to invest. In further education and when leaving University to work she was able to innovate and lead organisations in the development of new technology enabling them to become succesfuless in the information revolution.

Miranda's skills were in high demand in the UK. Whenever she brought a contract assignment to fruition her telephone never stopped ringing with lots of agents seeking to find her a new assignment. In Australia for most of the time Miranda and MRCX Pty Ltd have been un-noticed and for the most part have remained "below the radar".

Australia is considered an early adopter of technology and therefore currently has fewer opportunities for Software Archiects to demonstrate innovation and advancement.

At MRCX our principal aim has always been help people and businesses to succeed.

We think positive; we add value; we achieve objectives, and we endeavour to make a positive difference.

3. Practicing in the UK.

Ian spent over 10 years contracting in the UK as a Chartered Management Accountant - Member in Practice. As time went on he became more succesful and in order to satisfy his Professional Institutes Continuous Professional Development Requirements he attended Annual Member in Practice Conferences many times. These were hold from Friday to Sunday at a location in Oxfordshire and on occasions at Londons Heathrow Airport. The conferences were well planned with guest speakers and motivational content.

At one member in practice conference he was handed a book by a guest speaker Sir Alec Reed. The book is called "I Love Mondays" the back cover says:

'Everything is not possible - but almost everything is'.

It was reading this book and other motivational books like this that gave Ian the ambition to migrate to Australia, to be persistent and to make a success of it.

Miranda gained programming and business experience in the UK across many domains included MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging Software, Iris recognition, Wireless electronic tracking device technology, Data logging and Aeronautic Engineering Glass Cockpit Software Systems. There were only minimal gaps between contracts. In the UK the telephone was constantly ringing with agents presenting Miranda with new contacts opportunities.

It was a busy time for them, their skills were in demand in the both Private and the Public Sectors. They often stayed Sunday to Friday in Bed & Breakfast accomondation arriving home each Friday and spending only the weekends together.

Travelling to help organisations achieve their Goals and what they did not believe was possible was the nature of the professional consultancy businesses that over time evolved.

2. In Australia

In Australia Ian's skills have helped to develop Finance & Information Systems in Western Sydney at Blacktown Hospital and following this at Westmead Hospital.

In Australia Miranda worked on a data logging technology and medical software innovations.

MRCX has invested in high specification computer hardware and has created software to enable them to process high volumes of data. This enables important business intelligence information to be extracted and developed from very large data-sets.

Software that Miranda has written has applications in the Fintech Investment sector. This is cutting edge innovative technology that at the right time will be brought to fruition.

Ian set-up the first a base in Australia in Umina Beach on the Central Coast of New South Wales.

The team made daily a face to face contact using Skype. Ian's base was on the Central Coast Miranda was based near Portsmouth on the South Coast of England. At the time Skype their chosen method of communicating functioned really well.

Miranda returned to Australia in March 2014 and in July they relocated to Kincumber on the Central Coast.

Several years later they relocated their home based business by moving to Inverell in the Northern Tablelands. This was during the time of the Covid Virus Pandemic.

4. Areas of Interest

Most people have hobbies and interest sometimes these grow into something more. Over time Ian and Miranda have shared a wide range of interests. Fish keeping, Steam Railways, International travel, Aircraft and Astronomy.

It was a shared interest in Astronomy that brought Ian and Miranda them together. This was a joint understanding of the content of a book written by the UK Physcist Stephen Hawking "A Brief History of Time".

A Brief History of Time remains a staple of the scientific cannon and its succinct and clear language continues to introduce millions to the universe and its wonders.

As a boy Ian had keen interests in Steam Locomotives Geology, Photography, Motion Pictures, Space, Design and Technology. Ian has visited the JFK Space Centre in Florida USA a number of times. Ian's boyhood hero in the early 1960's was John F. Kennedy {JFK) the President of the United States of America.

In a speech given at Rice University in the United States JFK spoke of a BHAG - "Big Hairy Audacious Goal" this was an intention to land a man on the Moon and to do it within the end of the decade. At that time only few people had any idea how the Goal might be achieved. John left that up to the ingenuity of industry and science. The 'BHAG' was achieved in 1969 when NASA Astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed and stepped on to the surface of the Moon. When asked what motivated the people at NASA ... National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the companies they awarded contracts to the answer given is:

'We did it for John'.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy (May 1917 - November 22 1963).

Ian writes on: The IMb "Space The New Frontier".

And "The Intersection of Astronomy & Geology".
