The Company is a world wide software systems architecture and development firm based in Inverell, New South Wales, Australia. The team at MRCX specialise in system architecture, design, relational database management systems, and business intelligence.
The two principal directors of MRCX Pty Ltd are Ian and Miranda Mumford.
MRCX Pty Ltd was established soon after Ian and Miranda arrived in New South Wales as permanent residents, this was on the 1st July 2013.
This web-site tells the story of how Ian and Miranda came to Australia and how they worked together to achieve their shared set of Goals and Objectives. For Ian the story started minutes into the start of the 21st Centuary.
It is interesting that when Ian first began his Business Endeavour's he was not aware the that "Endeavour" was the name of the ship that Captain Cook sailed when he travelled from England to find and explore the lands that are today named Australia and New Zealand.
Ian was in-fact motivated by the way the people of the United States of America had worked hard to build and improve on a replacement space Shuttle vehicle that they also chose to name "Endeavour". To Ian it emphasised the importance of persistence in life and in business and why he should also be persistant and not give up on his vision or his business and personal life goals.
Ian's school moto was AIM HIGH ... throughout his life Ian followed this guidance and he has done that ...
Ian's business story begins at a Millenium Party when he was invited to visit and stay with two friends who live in Cape Town, South Africa. One of them, in earlier times, had been Ian's next door neighbour. His friends came to England from South Africa to visit relatives around the time of the Millennium. Three years elapsed before Ian and his wife were in a strong enough financial position to take up the offer. At the time of the Millennium party Ian was between contracts and having to sign on as unemployed. He was feeling uncertain about the future that lay ahead.
This was a time before Miranda and Ian's life pathways brought them together forming the begining of new chapters in both of their lives.
Ian and Miranda's lives are a Joint Venture filled with a "Spirit of Optimism and Adventure". This shared mind-set is what brought them to Australia.
3. The Story Continues ...
Guided by Miranda and some other people Miranda was in contact with Ian made a decision to migrate the project to use Microsoft 2000 SQL Server.
Ian was not at that time skilled in using this database or SQL ... Standard Query Language, so he had to begin to think "outside-the-box".
Ian had a social friend called Robert who had previously worked for Oracle as a programmer; so Ian made a strategic decision for a time to share his income by employing Robert to help him to deliver the project.
Robert was available because he had been forced by circumstance to be a carer for his mother who was terminally ill and she had recently passed away.
Working together they sucessfully delivered the project on time and within the budget.

Ian continued working with Robert for a further year. Robert helped Ian and the Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust to introduce web-based reporting accross their intra-net.
The following testimonial letter of support from The Royal Berkshire NHS Trust enabled Ian to progess from being an ACMA - Associate Chartered Management Accountant to FCMA - Fellow Chartered Management Accountant.
Ian's professional qualification is recognised by Universities as being equivalent to a MSc. - Master of Science.

Prior to this Ian had bravely relocated from Oldham the North West of England to live and work based in Hampshire near to Portsmouth on the South Coast of England.
2. The Cape Town Experience ...

Ian's business story begins with the invite to go on holiday to stay with the his friends in South Africa. The invite was made within hours of the start of the new millenium this being on the 1st January 2000.
It was the time Ian later spent with his friend Harry and his family in 2003 in Cape Town that gave Ian the idea to set-up a business that operated from a home office.
It gave Ian the ambition to follow Harry's example; by capitalising on his skill-set and his wide range of experience. When he arrived back in the UK Ian set up a Finance & Information Sytems company and registering with CIMA - The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants as a Chartered Management Accountant Member in Practice.
The company Ian set up was called "Rainbow Connexions Limited". The people Ian was working with at the time were supportive and gave the company its first contract. The contract proved successful and this enabled Ian to find his second contract in Bury, Lancashire. His customers began referring to Ian's company as RBCX so Ian decided to change the company name to RBCX Ltd. It was around this time that Ian and Miranda's met and began to get to know each other.
The Bury contract was a Time and Space Utilisation Project. Other contractors had previously attempted the project without success. Ian's solution proved successful, so the contract was extended and Ian was tasked with a new challenges.
One of the challenges allowed Ian to utilise his Microsoft Access skills that he had learned when employed as a Production Accountant at a Gin & Vodka factory. The project had wide parameters and Ian was given access to large anonymised healthcare data set.
This was more data than a Microsoft Access based system was capable of processing.
4. Why did Ian and Miranda choose Australia ?
Ian and Miranda are Professionally Qualified Consultants who provided services to organisations located throughout England. They both had skill sets that were in demand. They often found it difficult to find time to take time out for holidays sometimes it got to the 4th quarter of a calendar year before they could take a holiday.
One year they ended up taking a last minute holiday in Asia where they met Vanessa who invited them to visit Australia. A few years later it had got to mid-November and they were running out of time to take a holiday. So Ian decided to call Vanessa who lives in Queensland to see if they could take up the offer. Vanessa was surprised to receive Ian's call and offered to pick Ian and Miranda up from Brisbane Airport so Ian went ahead and booked a flight.
After a day or so recovering from the flight they hired a car and together they explored the Gold Coast and the North Coast of New South Wales.
Enjoying the experience Miranda called into a migration agents office and was advised to make an application to come to Australia on a permanent residency visa under the Skills-in-Demand migration program and not to wait too long to do this because age was a major part of the points system.
On her return to the UK Miranda submitted an application to migrate to Australia. It hit an obstacle due to the Skills-in-Demand occupation code she had selected so she handed the project over to Ian with the words "If you can get us in I will go". Ian does not like being told "no you can't" without a good reason so being the entrepreneur he is he grasped the nettle and two years later was successful in obtaning a permanent residency visa to live and work in New South Wales, Australia.
On their return to Australia Ian thought they would be able to work through UK company RBCX Ltd. He soon found out from agencies that this was not possible. This is the reson why Ian and Miranda established MRCX Pty Ltd in August 2013
